Tooloulou started as a shared document. I'm a freelance writer and former workshop instructor, and for years I kept a scrappy list of every trick I used to get unstuck: prompt banks, rhyme lookups, name lists I'd scavenged, palette pickers I opened when a post needed to look finished. My students kept asking me to email it. Eventually it seemed simpler to build the thing properly and put it somewhere everyone could reach.

The mission is narrow on purpose. There are plenty of sites that will happily write your essay or your novel for you. This isn't one of them. Tooloulou is for the moment before the writing — the warm-up, the false start, the ten prompts you generate to find the one that lights up. I believe the best creative tools are the ones you forget you're using, the ones that hand you a spark and then get out of the way so your own voice can take over. Everything here is built around that belief: fast, free, no sign-up, no lecture.

We serve a specific crowd — poets hunting a slant rhyme, students staring at a deadline, bloggers feeding a content calendar, songwriters naming a band, novelists three chapters deep and suddenly stalled. If that's you, I hope these generators feel less like software and more like a friend who says "okay, what if it started like this?" and hands you a door instead of a wall. Use them as raw clay, not finished pots. The craft stays yours.
